Welcome to the original Battle Ready Armor.com website. My name is Randy Killen.
The Battle Ready Armor concept came about in 2005 following my first venture called Field of Armor. Both Field
of Armor and Battle Ready Armor were the brainchild and passion of me and my father Crit W. Killen, a World War II veteran.
In honor of all of our war veterans I created and then registered the Battle Ready Armor.com website and name on July 4, 2006 and
have continued making and selling various military models, toys and collectables in 1/6th scale ever since.
While my Field of Armor company was known for its 1/6th scale German Tiger 1 tank, Battle Ready Armor offers many
more products. With Battle Ready Armor I expanded the line and methods in which I could make large scale collectable vehicles in
an affordable manner. What I came up with I call "stitch fold" or "metal fold".
I start off by creating a "flattened" version of an object in a CAD program. I then
cut out that shape in sheet steel using a laser. In the seams or corners of the bend areas I have the laser cut a series of
tiny slits. These slits allow you to bend the profile shape into whatever it is you are making without the use of heavy and
expensive equipment. So, simply put you actually fold the entire model together!
Battle Ready Armor.com focuses
on 1/6th scale German armor of WWII and offers 17 different styles:
Panther
Ausf G, Jagdpanther, Panzer IV Ausf D, G, J, Brumbar, L70 Lang, Wirbelwind, Ostwind,
Nashorn, Hummel, Stug IV, Tiger 1, King Tiger, Jagdtiger, 250 Neu, and Elephant.
I also take custom orders
for any tank I do not offer.
A word of Caution: due to the
popularity of my kits and products there are people who offer unauthorized copies of my tanks made in a similar fashion.
To insure that you get an original collectable Battle Ready Armor product email me and order through
crittkillen@aol.com If you are interested in 1/6th scale Allied armor, visit my other site at
www.randykillendesign.com where we are currently offering American armor and vehicles.
Thanks, and happy collecting!
